Hey guys it's Evans. I called the bowling alley on Tibet and got some info for us. The bowling starts at Midnight, is $49.99(including tax)/lane for 3 hours and up to 6 people, so about $8 bucks a piece and shoes are $4.24 (including tax). We can reserve a lane at any point on Friday and the earlier the better, b/c we can choose which lane we want...if we want to be away from the bar since they do allow smoking in that area. I was thinking that on my way out to January's and Ellen's I could stop by and get us a lane or more if we need to(hopefully so). Let me know!

Alright then,
Evans

BOOK CLUB

We've officially "started" the book club. Our first book is "Hard to Believe: The High Cost and Infinite Value of Following Jesus" by John MacArthur. Basically, this book addresses true discipleship (the title kinda sums it up). We're meeting at my house next Thurs at 7:00. At our first meeting we'll decide how often to meet, how much we want to have read by each meeting and potentially pick a more convenient meeting location. In the meantime, if you're interested, let Laurel know (she's getting the books for us and needs to know how many to get). Hopefully, she'll have them sometime this week and we've decided we'll read the first chapter by our first meeting. If you have any questions or need directions, call or email me. Right now theres 6 of us but the more the merrier.

hi all

i thought i'd do breakdown of all the Scripture we've been learning so if you miss a Tues you'll know what we're studying. So here's a recap of where we are:

When we first started studying names, we learned about the importance of names and how they describe aspects of the personality of God, Christ and the HS.
"Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is excellent, His glory is above earth and heaven."
Psalm 148:13

Laurel taught us about the God who sees us - a personal God who knows us and loves us and wants the best for us even when we don't see it or understand His plan.
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

God's names not only reveal aspects of God's character, they also describe and define our relationship with Him. They remind us not only of who He is but who we are.
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."
1 Peter 2:9

Our God loves us despite us. God delivers us. God sets us on high. God answers us. God rescues and honors us. God shows us His salvation.
"Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken."
Psalm 55:22

i encourage you all to study these along with whatever God shows you in your own devotional time. Share 'em with others and make them a part of your life.

learn 'em, live 'em and love 'em!

catch y'all this Fri at January's and Ellen's

Hey Everyone! Greetings from Cali! I went to a fabulous concert last night and just wanted to suggest that you guys pick up Warren Barfield's new CD. It just came out and if you don't have his last one then you should get that one too. His music and his testimony were a great encouragment.

See ya Sunday morning!

Sarah

Nickel Creek will be playing at the Johnny Mercer Theater on April 28.

Everyone should go! Their show is ... amazing!

prayer request

Ellen emailed me that her Uncle Mark in VA has died. He was in his upper eighties, and blessedly was saved. Ellen asks for prayer for his immediate family and the rest of her extended family. But also for any unbelievers who attend the funeral on Saturday that they might hear and believe the Gospel. Ellen is not sure yet if she will be going to VA, but until we hear otherwise, let's keep her travel mercies in our prayers as well.

Book Club anyone?

Hi all, January here. As Evans stated a while back, he and several others were interested in starting a book club, but no one else has given any feedback on that or what book they would like to start. Any interested parties will need to contact Laurel ... and/or respond to this post by leaving a comment. Give feedback (meaning your interest in it and what book you would like to read) by next Tuesday night so Laurel can go ahead and get things rolling with that.

Thank you much. And have a good week.

Howdy all, forest here. My first blog. Whoopiiiieeee. Yeah, so i haven't written a complete sentence yet, hmmmm. Anyway, just to let all the "COUNCIL" (add voice of GOD) members know, we're not having our COUNCIL (voice of GOD again) meeting Monday at 6:30 'cuz, weeeelllll, there's revival. So, i've taken the liberty of rescheduling our little shindig - Monday nite after revival, so we're talking about 7:30ish at Southside.

So recap for all you guys with A.D.D. - COUNCIL (add voice of GOD) meeting Monday nite, 7:30 at Southside. Laters all.

Hey yall, its Heather. I know it is last minute, but tonight yall are invited to mine & Ginger's house to help make personality buttons. I know what yall are thinking, "what are personality buttons"??? Well let me explain. They are kind of like name tags, except we are going to decorate them according to each of our personalities. ex: im the sunshine girl, so mine will have a sunshine on it. :) This is so the visitors will have a way to know our names, and it will be easier for them to remember. Plan to meet around 8:00 tonight. Hope to see yall there!

Hello all it is Evans...
Here is a list of some of the activities we are looking at:

*The Savannah Music Festival going on from 3/17-4/2. Really cool stuff!!

*Book Club, and if everyone would email Laurel about it and let her know type of books, (i.e.) length, intensity, subject, that would be good. Also let her know how often we should meet to discuss them. I know John, Forrest, Laurel and myself are interested and hopefully others are too!

*We need to break Mr. Teets home in correctly as well, so whenever he has done all the grunt work of moving in we should have a party planned to make it feel like a home. Any suggestions of days???

*The Chamber of Commerce sponsors a "Taste of Savannah" every couple of months and I can get us tickets at them member prices of $5 each. On April 27th they are having the "Taste of Southside" at the Armstrong Sports Arena. Everyone gets to get semi-dressed up and tour various foods from business on the Southside. Makes me feel like a grown-up...

*SCAD has the Sidewalk Art Festival April 29th at Forsyth Park. Might be fun if it is a pretty day...

*Everyone start thinking of a time where we can get a group of us to go see a Braves game. I have a person who works there and she should be able to get us tickets either free or pretty cheap. I would say we make a weekend out of it and go to the new aquarium (someone suggested, Ellen maybe?) or something else fun. I think I can get us a discounted rate on hotels there; it will depend on how many go. Sometime after us Russian travelers get back may work...July???

*I am trying to find out when the Shakespeare in the Park is. I know last year it was in May, anybody know? I have been twice and it is neat to picnic and watch it plus it is FREE!

*The Fine Arts on the River Festival has good stuff going on down on River Street from May 5th -7th. They have tons of different bands and some awesome food! It runs all day too so we there is a lot of flexibility.

*Other ideas include: A lock-in, Putt-Putt, Movie nights...and of course Ms. Heather's Poker Night!!!!!

I got plenty more stuff, so quit your job and lets go...

Evans

Howdy Yall, its Heather. I just wanted to let yall know that we are planning a cosmic bowling night on March 24 (its a Friday). We are going to meet at Ellen & January's house for pizza around 7:30 then we will head on over to the bowling alley on Tibet. If you could please bring a couple of dollars for the pizza, that would be great. If you need directions contact January. Hope to see yall there! For those of you who were not at Bible study last night it was great! We studied "the God who sanctifies". Our memory verse is 1 Peter 2:9, it's a little long but we can do it! Also, we will not be having Bible study next Tuesday due to revival at church. If you can, please be there. I think we can all say we need revival! Well that's it for me, I hope yall have a wonderful afternoon, and I look forward to seeing yall at church on Sunday!
